Each President of the Senate may be immortalised on canvas and is given a place in the portrait gallery of the Senate.

The portrait of Baron Paul de Favereau (1856-1922), President of the Senate from 1911 to 1922, was painted by Philip Swyncop (1878-1949).

As President of the Senate, Baron de Favereau worked from his home town of Jenneret in the Ardennes during the First World War to alleviate the suffering of the population.
